Four Weeks, Four States: The County Count Moves On

On August 29, I stepped off a ship at Nawiliwili, on the island of Kaua'i, to claim the last county in Hawai'i. (Technically, there is a 5th county there, but it's a leper colony on Molokai, and outsiders aren't allowed there; so I'm not counting that one.) Today I had dinner in Aroostook County, Maine, the last county in that state. In between I finished going to all the counties in West Virginia and Pennsylvania. So: 4 states in 4 weeks. A small triumph, I suppose, and I've now been to well over 80% of all the counties in the country.

I still don't know what I'm going to do about Alaska....
